On this day in 1869, 3 men, Mr. James Frank Hopkins, Mr. Greenfield Quarles, and Mr. James Mcllvaine Riley, vowed to form a Brotherhood based on the values of Love, Honor, and Truth. A Fraternity comprised of membership based on impulses of sympathy and affection for all people which underlie abiding peace and contentment. A Fraternity instilled on acting with a high sense of Honor, and ruling out hazing that had been so prominent during that time. A Fraternity that displayed Brotherhood as not letting petty differences get in the way of anything, but rather being true to yourself and experiencing new adventures by entering the realm of others. We give our gratitude to these 3 men for instilling the principles that we as Brothers today try and live our live by. Now 143 years later with 278 Sigma Nu chapter nationwide, we drive to carry on the legacy of our founders. Happy New Year to our IFC Brothers, Panhellenic Sisters, GSU Greeks, our familes and friends, and Happy Founders' Day to all our Sigma Nu Brothers!Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! - December 24, 2011
